Short version: RSS Player is a simple RSS reader app. We don't sell your data. We don't track you across the web. The feeds you subscribe to stay on your device.

This Privacy Policy describes how RSS Player ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application. We believe in keeping things simple and transparent — this page explains exactly what data is involved and why.

01 —

Information We Collect

RSS Player is designed to collect as little data as possible. Here is what the app works with:

  • Playback State — Position, read/unread status, and playback history are stored locally on your device only.
  • Crash Reports — If the app crashes, anonymous diagnostic data may be collected by the platform (iOS/Android) to help us improve stability.
  • Analytics — We may collect non-personal information about how you interact with the app, such as feature usage and device identifiers (via device_info_plus or flutter_udid). This data is used solely to analyze app performance, understand user behavior, and improve our services. All analytics data is processed in a way that does not personally identify you.

We do not collect your name, email address, location through the app itself.

How We Use Your Information

Since we collect very little data, our uses are equally minimal:

  • To deliver and improve the core functionality of the app (feed fetching, video playback).
  • To diagnose and fix crashes or performance issues reported anonymously by the platform.
  • To respond to your inquiries if you contact us by email.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any form of third-party data monetisation.

Data Storage & Security

All app data — your subscriptions, playback progress, and settings — is stored locally on your device using standard platform storage. This data is subject to your device's own security mechanisms (passcode, biometric lock, etc.).

When the app fetches an RSS feed, it makes a direct HTTP/HTTPS request from your device to the feed's server. This request is not routed through any RSS Player proxy or backend. The feed provider's own privacy policy governs any data logging on their end.

We do not operate servers that store your personal data.

Third-Party Services

RSS Player is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. By using the app, you are also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies:

  • Apple App Store — Apple may collect analytics and crash data per their platform policies.
  • Google Play — Google may collect device and usage information per their platform policies.
  • RSS Feed Providers — When you subscribe to a feed, your device contacts that feed's server directly. That server may log your IP address or other request metadata as governed by the provider's own privacy policy.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, the conventional data-access and deletion request process does not apply in the traditional sense. However:

  • You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app from your device.
  • You can remove any subscription directly within the app at any time.
  • If you contacted us by email and want that correspondence deleted, reach out and we will honour the request promptly.

Children's Privacy

RSS Player does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app does not contain content directed at children, and we do not market it to minors.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take prompt action to remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes.

Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If we make material changes that affect your rights, we will notify users through the app or through the App Store update notes.
